I was reading a book yesterday and I read something very interesting that really shows how I feel about economics... Jagdish Bhagwati described why he chose economics and not sociology as his vocation… “[…] what other choice could really have been made by a young student from a country afflicted by economics misery? If reducing poverty by using economic analysis to accelerate growth and thereby pull people up into a gainful employment and dignified sustenance is not moral, and indeed a compelling imperative, what is?”
Today, I can say that I still wound up preferring economics for my vocation.
